Misfits "Who Killed Marilyn" 1st press 7", autographed

"Who Killed Marilyn?" 7” on Plan 9 records, autographed by Glenn Danzig. This is a first pressing. I have been the proud and overprotective owner of this fine piece of Misfits history for 15 years now. I purchased it in 1992 from Bleeker Bob’s in Los Angles, the very same store where Glenn sold his personal test-pressing of the second pressing of this record. It is quite possible that Glenn also sold this first pressing copy to them. I have played it only twice. Once when I first got it and once just now.

Marilyn is in great shape. She has lived the last 15 years of her life with me, in a protective plastic bag inside of a metal record storage box. This record once sat behind glass on display in a show of original misfits records of mine. She still sounds great; both sides play through without a single flaw.

The pictures that I have provided are from high resolution scans that I just now made from the actual item for sale.

Side A is PL1015-A, this is the side with Marilyn’s Face and the whole in her nose, the matrix etching is PL-1015 A, (and then in letters about half that size) F/W DM. There are no visible scratches on side A, only the faintest sparkle of a surface mark in just the right light. You have to be really looking hard or you won’t see anything.

Side B is PL1015-B, this is the label with the information, [ GLENN DANZIG, PLAN 9, 45 RPM Stereo, ©& P static age music, PL1015-B, WHO KILLED MARILYN (other side), SPOOK CITY U.S.A. (this side) ] , matrix etching is PL1015 B (and then in smaller letters) Fw G dm. There is one visible surface scratch on this side but you can only see it at certain angles and it does not effect the audio during playback at all.

The cover is also in wonderful shape. Glenn Danzig’s signature on the front cover is very nicely placed and spaced, not a rushed autograph job. You can tell by the fading of the sharpie and the style of the signature that it is very old. His later signatures look much more scribbled and rushed. If you look close, there is a small fold crease at the top left of the front. You can’t see it in the pictures, which goes to show how un-noticeable it is, but in real life it is there, from the bottom of the “H” in “Who” to the top of the first “L” in “Killed”. The corners and edges are a little white, you can see this in the scans. On the back of the cover you can see a faint echo from the bend that caused the crease on the front side, there is not a crease on the backside. Again, not visible in the scan but in real life, there is about an inch of faint record ring on the left side of the back, where the record opening is, near the center of that side.

As a very special bonus, I am also including my “Who Killed Marilyn” poster. The poster is 24” by 33” and was printed in England. I purchased it back in 1991 from Danny’s Records in Fresno, California. The poster has been hung on many of my walls and it has the pinholes and ware to prove it.

Oh yea, stay tuned, because I am going to be letting go of a few of my other misfits records, including my prized possession; A beautiful first pressing of Earth A.D. / Wolfsblood on (what Misfits Central calls) Clear vinyl. The record is actually translucent pink with some darker streaks that match the color of the cover almost perfect, and even 2 or 3 small spots of a blue color. The cover is deep pink or (as Misfits Central calls it) light purple.
