Miles Davis "YOUNG MAN WITH A HORN" Vol. 2 10” Blue Note 5022 “P” Original Vinyl.

This is the extremely rare 1953, Flat-Rim, Deep Groove, Frame Cover, original 10” edition of Miles Davis Vol. 2 YOUNG MAN WITH A HORN 10” EP on the 767 Lexington Ave NYC labels of Blue Note BLP 5022. “P” or “ear” in deadwax. Musicians include Davis, Jay Johnson, Art Blakey, Jimmy Heath.

VINYL has consistent low-level pops and ticks. Side 1, track 1, opening section (1/8”) has locked groove. Some tracks are noise free. As with all early Blue Note pressings, imperfections do not detract from the beautiful engineering, performance and pressing. Both Side 1 and Side  have excellent gloss, no feelable marks.  Deep Grooved labels are clean with minimal spindle marks. Instruments big, bold, dynamic, full of tone, clean and clear.

FRAME COVER is in good condition. Aging, no split spine. 4” Seam split top right. Back jacket: aging present. Corners worn.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers (with very revealing ribbon tweeters). Record cleaned on VPI 16.5.
