Released during Miles' hiatus in the second half of the 70s, "Water Babies" is a compilation of leftover, unreleased material from the late 60s. While the album of course aimed to fill Columbia's loss of record sales without the massive following of the Jazz legend, it also serves as an interesting look into a period of transition for Miles as he moved from acoustic to electric.
