Miles Davis Water Babies
Water Babies is an album that probably would not have seen the light of day had not Miles Davis decided to retire in the mid-seventies. Columbia went back into the vaults and compiled recordings from 1967,1968 and 1969. Coincidentally, all five tracks that make up Water Babies were composed by Wayne Shorter. The tracks work together surprisingly well, with all of them being a prelude to 1969’s masterpiece, In A Silent Way.
Oh yeah, and that retirement only lasted a few years.
This is an early1976 pressing from the Terre Haute, Indiana Columbia pressing plant. The shrink wrap is open (the record was played a few times) but still has the original marketing sticker (pictured). Vinyl is excellent. It was purchased as a new release at Laurie’s Records in Evanston, IL for $4.76.
