Miles Davis Quintet Miles Smiles (Columbia Stereo CS9401) Miles' quintet grew up quite a few incredible musicians over its long history, with multiple new directions explored as hard-bop, modal post-bop and fusion formats. This legendary 1967 session with memorable performances and compositions from saxophonist Wayne Shorter setting the tone. This modal post-bop iteration of the quintet is defined by a very forward thinking rhythm section including pianist Herbie Hancock and percussionist Tony Williams in top form. Maybe my favorite Miles quintet date. A desert island keeper.
Record grade: VG+ Great clean copy! This original deep-groove, heavyweight 1st stereo pressing would be a higher grade EX for all but a single scratch on A3 that tics lightly under the music.
Cover notes: Standard album jacket, thick and sturdy but with some ring wear, and seam wear and chipping at bottom seam and spine.

G (Good): The record will have heavy wear, with very apparent surface and background noise. A plus or minus may be given, if notable.

Shipping: All records will be shipped in a sturdy, reinforced cardboard box mailer, with record and cover protected in plastic sleeve. Standard shipping will be via USPS media mail, at cost of $4.00. Priority mail also available, at cost of $10.00. Save on combined shipping when additional records are purchased. For additional records, $1.00 will be added to initial shipping cost.
