COLLECTOR'S ALERT. Miles Davis Quintet "Miles Davis With Sonny Rollins" 1954 Prestige Records PrLP 187 mono 10". This is the stuff kids. Hard to find, historically important, and the vinyl, anyway, is in awesome condition. Fantastic music including, besides Davis and Rollins, Horace Silver, Percy Heath and Kenny Clarke. As I've said about some other listings, the sleeve on this one is tragic given what's inside it. Heavy scuff damage, beat up opening, split on two sides and the spine, back is dingy (see photos). Fair is the most generous rating I can give it. The vinyl is, on the other hand, immaculate. No scratches or scuffs, playing back with near dead quiet. This Prestige pressing (along with the one they did of the Quartet the same year) is super vibrant--it sounds like the players are in the room. Owning this record will remind you of why we love being alive and playing vinyl. Just cleaned with a VPI wet-vac system. I'll pay the shipping via USPS Media Mail.
