Post/packing
I pack the LPs in LP envelopes, with stiffeners if I think that's necessary. I send them Royal Mail 1st class and try hard to send them the day after you pay me. Let me know if you want them sent recorded delivery or to a different address.
I'll post the LPs anywhere in the world. Contact me if you need a quotation of approximate post and packing to your country.
I am happy to pack multiple items together to save posting. I have bigger packets that can take 3-4 LPs. Just let me know …
About the collection
The albums are from our personal collection and therefore everything is used. Most of the LPs are my other half's and he was always a bit precious about his vinyl so most of the vinyl is in very good or excellent condition and the covers are usually in reasonable condition, but it's fair to say some of them are showing their age in that they may have ring wear, yellowing / fading and bashed corners. How I rate the condition
I like to be honest about the condition of the vinyl that I'm selling; I listen to all the albums before I put them on ebay.
For the vinyl
- Excellent means when I played the record I couldn't hear any clicks or ticks or distortion. Most LPs in our collection are excellent.
- Very good means I heard a few clicks when listening to the record and I usually try to say in the entry how this affects the record. e.g. clicks at the beginning of track 1 side 1
- Good and Poor … well records that are this bad (i.e. they jump or have really bad, long scratches) I usually just take to the charity shop unless I think someone might be interested in them for the cover or inserts rather than the vinyl.
For the cover
I'll explain if cover is gatefold or not, the condition of the cover and any inserts. Also I'll mention if there are any sticky labels, label residue or writing on the cover etc. I always say if the cover has a cut-out. I am happy to send you more photos of the covers.
- Excellent means the covers are nice and crisp. There might be a little bit of wear on the tops and bottoms of the cover. Also the sleeve may have become unglued (through age) but I don't consider this to be damage coz you could easily glue it back together if you wanted.
- Very good means the covers are showing a bit of wear. They might have ring wear, be a bit bashed at the edges, have a little sticky label residue. Most covers in our collection are very good.
- Good means the cover is quite worn and may have bad bashes on the corners and small tears.
- Poor means the cover has been loved too much or general abused and is really quite worn and tired. Or that the cover doesn't exist. You'd be buying this sort of album coz you want the vinyl not the cover.
