The number one selling album of all time, I offer 1982's Thriller by Michael Jackson in near mint or mint minus condition. This is the first press release from Epic, CBS, with cat number QE 38112. This particular copy has an extremely rare misprint on reverse cover, acknowledging Quincy Jones as the only producer with no mention of Michael at all. This was caught early on and corrected to the one more commonly produced, giving acknowledgement to both Jackson and Jones.

• Perfect choice for a serious collector who wants to enjoy listening to it, or for someone wanting to frame it. The prices of these misprinted covers are so extreme, up over a thousand, even two thousand dollars. I'm pricing this copy very conservatively. 
It's notable that when I first checked out condition under bright light with readers on, I thought I saw scuffs around Billie Jean on side two (see photo 7). These are not scuffs, but production marks from the pressing/cutting of the album. The album sounds exceptional on both sides, on all songs, and I wonder if it was even played before today. Maybe once, but no more. I'm going to say there are a few surface only marks just to cover myself, just in case I missed something.

Thriller is the sixth studio album by American singer Michael Jackson, released on November 30, 1982, by Epic Records. Reunited with Off the Wall producer Quincy Jones, Jackson was inspired to create an album where "every song was a killer". With the ongoing backlash against disco, Jackson moved in a new musical direction, incorporating pop, post-disco, rock and funk. Thriller foreshadows the contradictory themes of Jackson's personal life, as he began using a motif of paranoia and darker themes. The album features a single guest appearance, with Paul McCartney becoming the first artist to be featured on one of Jackson's albums. Recording took place from April to November 1982 at Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles, with a production budget of $750,000.
Thriller became Jackson's first number one album on the Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart, where it spent a record 37 weeks at number one, from February 26, 1983, to April 14, 1984. Producing the singles "The Girl Is Mine", "Billie Jean", "Beat It", "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'?", "Human Nature", "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)", and "Thriller", all reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, setting the record for the most top 10 singles from an album, with "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" reaching number one. Following Jackson's performance of "Billie Jean" in Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever, where he debuted his signature moonwalk dance, the sales of the album significantly increased, selling one million copies worldwide per week. The "Thriller" music video was premiered to great anticipation in December 1983 and played regularly on MTV, which also increased the sales of the album.
