About This Holy Grail Metallica Vinyl Item (a.k.a. Record). 

This is a TOP COPY of the legendary killer Metallica Holy Grail Item!  YES, the Box Set in its rarest vinyl form:  [no number] /5000.  This is the Metallica Audiophile 180 gram Box Set issued a few years back by Elektra/Rhino Records that includes all the Metallica LPs to date that will blow your mind out! [but pic disc and Garage are single discs].  Here’s your one and only chance!  Gold embossed prmo stamps on each gatefold LP and Garage (but NOT the Pic Disc [fortunately! No place to put it!]

In all seriousness, there are fewer than about 12 known copies of this massively important item in un-numbered form.  Thousands of Metallica and metal fans have the box set, but there are exactly 7 hardcore Metallica fans around the world to claim to have a copy.  And a few more out there like mine.  See Metallica site link!  http://metallipromo.com/100.html  This is one of the rarest Metallica items on the planet, important not only for its rareness, but especially for its sonic quality and the knowledge that this box set will be around 100 years from now when all of your freakin’ CDs will be totally dysfunctional [OK; just an editorial comment, let’s please not go there].  Yes, 5000 regular box sets came out, but only 7 known copies, until I now volunteer this 8th! 

The Box set contains 10 vinyl slabs in total that comprise the following:   Kill em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets and Justice For All, plus the Garage Day Revisited 12”, and a super rare picture disc of Creeping Death.  To top everything off, this is a Promo copy /5000.  Yes, it is numbered, but un-numbered because promo copies (the scarce few issued [why issue promo copies of a box set of a band that everybody knows anyway?]) did not have a number, only [blank] /5000.

What do I mean by Top Copy?  Yes, see my feedback; I mean what I say.  I bought this new for $$$, opened it (it comes with the original sticker that was on the shrinkwrap too!!!) and played most but not all LPs once maximum.  Each cover has gold embossed promo stamp.

About Me.  I do HATE to potentially (hehehe) part with this . . . Sorry about the reserve price but I paid hundreds of dollars for this Box Set when sealed from a long time music industry contact who knew I liked Metallica even though I look Old!  I have been a Record Collector for over 35 years with a wide variety of bizarre tastes in music.  With two kids in college, I often sell records so I can buy more vinyl or, in this case, pay the last college tuition bills of the year!  99% of what I sell is vinyl; read my Feedback!  I don't sell Craaap; only stuff that I deem worthy so please inspect closely and often.  Common LPs are a waste of your time and mine!   

Vinyl Condition.  Each Metallica LP here that was a single LP was issued as a DOUBLE LP in GATEFOLD form!  And each LP comes in 180 gram vinyl Audiophile Format.  The vinyl is NM+ to M- on each LP.  Again, I bought this new, opened it and played most but not all LPs one time, maybe twice for one or two sides on my high quality equipment . . . very very carefully.  Anything on the LPs is factory deviant and not from my careful hands or equipment.  The only mark from my astute visual inspection that might make your eyebrows blink is that I noticed a whispy mark (on The Small Hours) that does not affect play in any way whatsoever on the Garage Days 12" vinyl LP (in 33rpm audiophile, not 45rpm!).

Label Condition.  The labels on each LP are in M- condition.  Again, bought this sealed.  I haven't scrutinized each LP closely about any factory problems, as pulling the vinyl in and out increases those minor 'hairline' or paper marks on the vinyl.  . 

The Individual LP Covers.  The covers of the LPs are in Gatefold Form!! Each is in NM to M- condition; each cover has gold embossed promotion stamp.  This importantly also comes with the original sticker (see picture) and surviving surrounding shrinkwrap that came with sealed Box Sets in promo as well as also super rare stock non-promo form.  Please see my pictures! 

Box Set Cover Condition.  The Box is in M- condition.  NO problems.  Meticulously stored by me since 2005 when I bought it sealed.  While this is a promo copy, there is no cut corner.  The covers of the LPs, which are in Gatefold Form!! as noted above are in NM to M- condition; each cover has gold embossed promotion stamp.  This importantly also comes with the original sticker (see picture) and surviving surrounding shrinkwrap that came with sealed Box Sets in promo as well as also super rare stock non-promo form.  Please see my pictures!  Box Set shows slash 5000 on cover.

Shipping.  Contact me about shipping after the auction.  My plan is to send 3 separate packages:  One with two double LPs and the pic disc, the other with the other 2 double LPs and re-revisted Garage LP! And the final package with the box and nothing else so the box remains pristine.  But I am happy to ship any way you want!  Within the US I would guess . . . no I don’t wanna guess since my reserve it what I paid and I don’t want to subsidize you . . . I will ship however you want.
