Description

Up for auction here is a vinyl single from the mighty Metallica.  It's a single for the amazing song Creeping Death off of the immeasurable Ride the Lightning album.  Of course, if that isn't enough for you to bid, it's also an IMPORT  item from France (the vinyl says made in France, even thogh some of the backs of the cardbaord covers say Made In England).  Released on the Music For Nations label, catalogue # 12 KUT 112.  Still not good enough?  Well how about the face that this is no regular black vinyl single, nor is it the more common red, blue or gold versions.  No, this is the CLEAR vinyl!!!  And if all this is still not enough for you, well then let me tell you that is a TOP 100 METALLICA COLLECTOR'S ITEM!!

On many websites you will see this referred to as a former Top 100 Item.  Okay, first of all a Top 100 item means that less than 100 people in the world have one.  Secondly, the person who made that site took down the Top 100 list precisely because a lot of fakes were showing up on eBay.  However you can still see top 100 status for this item here:

Now I know what you might be thinking: How do I know this is legit?  True, there are fake color Creeping Death vinyls out there.  Not sure about fake clear ones, but it's certainly possible.  First of all, you can easily check my feedback and my return policy.  Secondly, check out this website, easily the best resource that I can think of:

http://www.metallipromo.com/metallica.creeping12.html

Go ahead and read it and you will hear about dished labels, swirls, marbling, and streaks among other things.  You will also read about how some legitimate copies of this vinyl do say Made in England on the back cover even though they are actually from France.  I can assure you, and you can see in the pictures, that there are no swirls, no marbling, and no streaks in the vinyl, and certainly no dished labels.  What the hell are dished labels you may ask?  The best picture of this I can think of is here:

http://i.ebayimg.com/19/!Bnd(y5QBWk~$(KGrHqIOKioEtkZMb(DjBLjkHo1pNg~~_12.JPG

In that picture you can see an obvious ring.  The inner part of the ring is lower than the outer part, hence the phrase dished labels.  You can see in my pics that this is clearly (no pun intended) not the case.  By the way, if you want to see my pics in even greater clarity go here:

And if you want even better clarity feel free to save them on your computer and open them there.  What can I say, I like to take quality pics when I list something on eBay.  Every photo I see is either obviously fake, far away, or concealed in some way.  To see what I mean, I've collected some pics from eBay recently of other Creeping Death auctions:

http://www.troccolitm.com/MetCreepClearFake.html?1278381443598

Unbelievable!  The first 2 are obvious fakes, the next 3 are possible fakes, and the rest are just examples of poor pictures.  On top of all of this, I have been collecting records for a long time.  I used to collect Metallica, Aerosmith and Guns N Roses, but decided to just focus on GNR.  You can check my website: www.troccolitm.com.  Arguably the best GNR collection in the world.  I know about collecting!

The record itself is in MINT- condition, the paper sleeve it sits in is in EX+ condition (no splits!), the cardboard outer sleeve is in EX condition (again, no splits, but minor scuffs here and there - see the pics).  The whole thing will come in a protective plastic sleeve.

My rating system ranges from mint all the way down to poor condition.  You have mint, mint-, excellent+, excellent, excellent-, fair+, fair, fair-, poor+ and poor.

I do not hold feedback hostage - as soon as I receive payment feedback will be posted.  Delivery services (insurance, registered mail, etc.) are optional when available.  If you would like to know about other shipping options (registered, certified, etc.) just please be sure to ask.  I do not charge handling fees - the price you pay for postage is the actual mailing cost.  If it ends up more than quoted for some reason I will pay the difference.  If it's less than quoted I will refund the difference.  Good luck!
