Description

This is the Classic Records re-release of one of the first, if not the first Columbia Masterworks Records Long Playing LP (Lp Long Playing Microgroove ML 4001 "Nonbreakable"). Here you have Nathan Milstein, Violin with Bruno Walter conducting the Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra of New York; the re-issue on Classic Records 50th Anniversary LP Series. The initials BG are in the run-in groove land which I believe indicates this Classic Records re-issue was mastered by Bernie Grundman.  The LP playing surfaces have been professionally cleaned using a VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine with dedicated vinyl wash solution, vacuumed dry and de-magnetized using a Furutech "De-Mag" device.  I purchased this album new and have played it 100% through once after the aforementioned cleaning process.  For a historic recording, the engineer and producer did a great job and it doesn't sound "historic"; it sounds like a modern mono recording.  Again, MENDELSSOHN: Concerto in E Minor for Violin and Orchestra, Opus 64
