JANOS STARKER/GYORGY SEBOK – Mendelssohn: Cello Sonata in D Major & Chopin: Cello Sonata in G minor.
Condition of Vinyl: NM- (Glossy surfaces, has been lightly played; very minor surface marks – usually light paper rub, especially on Side 2 – that did not sound at all during play. Black mark on the Side 1 label. PLAY GRADED.
Condition of Cover: NM (one price tag on back)
Includes original Mercury inner sleeve.
This LP was Janos Starker's first duo session after he signed with the Mercury label in 1962. The accompanied piano was played by Gyorgy Sebok, who played most of Starker's due sessions on this label.
On both tracks, Starker plays so marvelous – spontaneous vibrations between the players, the atmosphere, amazingly speedy cello play but at the same time, courteous and beautiful sound; everythings GREAT!
