Sun Brimmers

Easily the most important and jug band of all time,

The Memphis Jug Band was one of the most popular groups of the 1920's and 1930's.

The only rival was Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers.

The Memphis Jug Band was comprised of Will Shade, Willie Weldon, Hattie Hart, Charlie Polk, and Walter Horton and Furry Lewis.

Memphis Minnie and her husband Kansas Joe McCoy as well as Dewey Corley, Charlie Burse, Vol Stevens, and

Ben Ramey (he played the kazoo)

were all apart of the ever-evolving membership of the Memphis Jug Band. Guitarist and harpist, Will Shade, was the center of this group.
