Description

The Beatles - Meet The Beatles album (Stereo)

  • Second 1964 Pressing
  • East Coast
  • Capitol ST-2047
  • 1 BMI
  • No George Martin producer credit on cover
  • Spizer cat. no. CAP 2047.SR2A / SC2A

Released January 20th, 1964, this was the Beatles' first release for Capitol records. Or was it? Capitol actually released the Twist and Shout LP in Canada a week before. But who's counting, right? And let's not even get into VeeJay releases in the US. Were they released prior to this LP? It seems that there may be some doubt. But I digress...
Meet The Beatles went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Albums chart on February 15th, 1964 and stayed there for eleven straight weeks.

Record VG Cover VG+ Inner Sleeve VG

Vinyl Condition

The vinyl is play graded Very Good (VG) due to a couple of louder pops at the end of tracks 1 and 3 on the second side. There are no skips, however. There are a few surface scratches. Quite a bit of gloss still exists on the vinyl.

Both labels are clean. The vinyl has been cleaned since the pics were taken.

Cover Condition

The cover is graded Very Good plus (VG+) due to some writing on the upper-right of the front cover and a couple of small stains just below the upper right corner area of both sides (see pics). There is very slight ring wear on the front ,but it is a pretty clean cover overall. The spine is very nice, no tears.

No splits or stickers

This is very a nice copy of this cover. It typically has a lot of wear on that dark blue background, but this one only has a bit of that.

Inner Sleeve Condition

The inner sleeve is graded Very Good (VG) due a few small tears at the top and a 2" tear on the bottom. There is also some age-related discoloration, as can be seen in the pics.

Careful Packaging

Record will be packed in standard cardboard mailer with cardboard filler pieces on each side. Vinyl will be removed from the sleeve (where applicable) and placed in a generic sleeve to help prevent damage due to jostling during shipping. Both will be placed in a protective plastic sleeve. I've bought a couple hundred records on eBay recently and I've seen how bad and how good packaging can be. Trust me, I will do what I can to make sure your record gets to you undamaged!

Also, I do offer combined shipping. So if you win an auction and want to bid on a future auction, please let me know your plans. Then when you are done, just ask for an Invoice and I will adjust the total accordingly.
