Description

For your consideration is this true gem, an absolute First Pressing of Capitol Records initial Beatles LP release from 01/20/1964 - Meet The Beatles

Having to fulfill orders as quickly as possible and cash in on this (what they thought would be) passing Beatles fad, Capitol neglected to await the publisher credits for the songs on this album. Instead they rushed out a ONE TIME INITIAL PRESSING without any publisher credits. No BMI or ASCAP are present on these labels. It is the only true first pressing of this album. Within a week several other label variations would follow with various numbers of BMI or ASCAP present on the labels until they finally got it right by the fifth pressing a month or two later.

The overall condition of this earliest of Capitol Beatles LP releases is great. The deep groove vinyl album plays beautifully (tracking set to 2 grams). There are light surface marks present throughout but nothing that can be felt when running your fingers over the surface. Plenty of original shine exists as this LP was played but well cared for. Minimal background noise is heard and only a bit in the dead wax between tracks. Sounds great. These early/mid 60’s Capitol pressings are some of the best pressings of the day.

The Original Cover is brilliant. ZERO ring wear can be found on this beautiful, classic front cover. It still looks and feels almost factory fresh. The predominantly white rear cover is CLEAN and mark free. The spine and other edges are near perfect. The original inner sleeve also is in great condition (the only flaw I could find is a tiny mark on George near where his photo blends into the black. You have to tilt the cover and search for it. Not noticeable and most likely there originally. I always point flaws out rather than trying to hide them so please observe and expand the provided photos for your condition concerns).

That’s it. Not a perfect example of this rare Meet The Beatles absolute first pressing but a damn good one all around. Thanks for looking, Bob
