Description

What you are going to hear:  Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell (1977, Epic Records) is one of the landmark albums of rock music, pairing Meat Loaf's powerhouse vocals with Jim Steinman's dramatic songwriting and Todd Rundgren's distinctive production. The album became a worldwide phenomenon, eventually selling tens of millions of copies and producing some of the most recognizable theatrical rock songs of the 1970s. This copy is the special limited picture edition, featuring the iconic Bat Out of Hell artwork pressed directly onto the vinyl.

The album is highlighted by “Bat Out of Hell,” “You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night),” “Two Out of Three Ain't Bad,” “Paradise by the Dashboard Light,” and “For Crying Out Loud.” Steinman's oversized arrangements and Meat Loaf's dramatic performances give the album its unmistakable combination of rock, theatricality, humor, and romance. The picture-disc edition adds an appealing collectible dimension to one of the most recognizable rock albums of the era. This is the Epic special limited picture edition, catalog #E99 34974.

Condition:  The vinyl has been thoroughly cleaned (SpinClean) and play-tested on both sides to ensure quality playback.  There was light crackle during the interludes between songs, but no skips.

The jacket has light wear on the corners and edges.  It's a specially designed "see through" cover to display the art on the vinyl itself.  The record is encased in the original plastic sleeve.

Label / Catalog Number: EPIC/Cleveland International Records / 34974

Your record will come enclosed in a protective outer sleeve and neatly packaged in an album-specific box.

We strive to offer a carefully curated collection of clean vintage music media that's been researched and honestly represented.  Thank you for shopping with us.  We look forward to helping this album find a new home.
