McKenna Mendelson Mainline Blues                   (Cdn.) Paragon (Allied) Album No. 15

This is an original 1969 Canadian Paragon records pressing of McKenna Mendelson Mainline's debut session, "McKenna Mendelson Blues". Recorded in 2 days (October 1968, as a demo) and released by Paragon the following year (when it was apparent that they were going to become a popular Canadian blues outfit). Paragon worked this strategy as well (I think) with the psych-jam "Christmas" lp (which is MUCH harder to come by). GREAT guitar work from one of Canada's finest EVER slide/blues guitarists (Michael McKenna). Good harmonica and vocals from the esteemed Joe Mendelson. Great rhythm section as well in Denny Gerrard and Tony Nolasco. This album is LOUD and BLUESY. 

Dead wax has REC. No. 15  A and the initials T.G. all etched on Side 1 and REC. No. 15 B and the initials T.G. all etched on Side 2. Original Paragon press.   

Vinyl visual Grading:  VG+ with a few imperfections, probably due to handling. Original Paragon deep-groove labels show VERY FEW plays.

Vinyl play Grading:  VG+/NM with excellent fidelity and very little noise. Side 1 plays with a tiny bit of crackle on Bad Women (barely noticeable) . Side 2 plays pretty much NM. These Paragon (Allied) pressings were not what I would consider Audiophile pressings. Combine this with the fact that the lp was recorded as a DEMO over 2 days and you have a reasonable explanantion for the sound quality I would think. Plays probably as well as any copy you might find. 

Cover visual Grading:  VG+ on this single paste-over original Candian cardboard cover. SHRINK still 90% on. Bottom front right corner is missing a 3-inch square of shrink. Also, the shrink has somewhat receded allowing both corners at the opening to be slightly softened. NO ring or rubbing wear on cover itself. Small delete hole bottom right. SUITABLE FOR FRAMING!  

Comes with non-original heavy Audiophile style plastic inner.

NM:  Virtually unmarked / considered either RARELY PLAYED, AS NEW OPENED, or record could still be SEALED.

VG+:  NO scratches/scuffs. At most a few light surface blemishes which have VERY LITTLE or NO effect on fidelity. 

VG:  Used but CERTAINLY NOT abused, perhaps extremely light surface scratching/scuffing causing noise which DOES NOT significantly compromise the fidelity of the music

G:   There will be visible marking and noise evident but the record will still be listenable and enjoyable, depending on your ears.

I do not use the Mint grading since there really is no such thing as perfection. Also, I will NOT sell noisy vinyl (Fair/Poor gradings) UNLESS I feel that there is significant historical and/or collector interest in the item. 

ALL records will have been visually graded under BRIGHT light and play graded on a Thorens TD165 table with little used Shure cartridge (at about 1.5 grams) and JBL reference headphones with the Treble set HIGH. This play-grading system masks very little so rest assured that my descriptions will be ACCURATE.

All of my listings will have the particulars detailed (ie. any blemishes, detail concerning condition of vinyl, cover, etc.). All records will be shipped in new or top-condition recycled record mailers with well padded corners and extra stiffeners. Original inners will be included if available, and all vinyl/covers will be held within a poly outer (vinyl will be outside of cover).

I will not be held responsible for any items that are lost or damaged in transit, AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

                 1 LP anywhere in Continental U.S./Canada - $8             1 LP Overseas as per Canada Post fees in listed shipping rates  

    It costs me MORE THAN the $8 Continental listed fee to post an album, so everyone (in North America) gets a break on shipping.  Multiple items will be quoted upon request! These shipping/handling rates are still DEFINITELY LESS than my actual costs. Feel free to ask questions at any time. No question will go unanswered. I have done A LOT OF VINYL BUYING on ebay and have encountered pretty much every conceivable issue.

On occasion, I will be listing cds. All of the cds will have their particular condition detailed within the listing. Shipping for cds will be $3 within Canada/U.S. and $6 to U.K./Japan. I will, of course, offer shipping/handling cost breaks on multiple items BUT since I am shipping from Canada (where we live with NOTORIOUSLY high postal rates), you may not receive the price break that you are hoping for.  

AGAIN, being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing some of the costs of postage and ALL of the costs of shipping materials.
