Description
McGOUGH & McGEAR - 'McGOUGH & McGEAR'
Scaffold members Roger McGough & Mike McGear (McCartney) recorded this psychedelic satire album for Parlophone in 1968.
It included the usual Scaffold mix of lyrics, poems and comedy but most interestingly includes musical contributions from: Jimi Hendrix, Graham Nash, John Mayall, Spencer Davis, Yardbirds bassist Paul Samwell-Smith, Pretty Things drummer Viv Prince and others. Their contributions are best heard on the opening track 'So Much In Love' (complete with 'phasing' not present on reissues) which can be heard on the Youtube player a little further down this listing.
This NEAR MINT UK 1st MONO pressing dates from March 1968 release and is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7047
A genuine 'Factory Sample - Not for Sale' sticker is adhered to the side 2 label.
The labels also include the 'Sold in UK.. ' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.

The disc is housed within a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover.

A superb set with just a small handful of well-aimed spindle trails around the side 2 centre hole and just one on 1 around each centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Pristine factory-fresh playing surfaces which are 'as new' and completely unmarked both in strong daylight with just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines visible directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp. Tough to upgrade this copy.
Sound Quality: MINT
Played just once or twice on broadcast equipment only, the sound is flawless throughout with no trace of any audible faults or wear on or between any track.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A highly respectable example which bears light storagewear only and no significant or major faults.
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Clean & flat with a ligt disc impression but no noticeable faults or wear.
