Description
McCOY TYNER The Real McCoy Blue Note BST 84264
Up for auction is an original 1967 Blue Note stereo pressing of McCoy Tyner's stellar 1967 quartet session, "The Real McCoy". 5One of Blue Note's finest quartet sessions, featuring Tyner, Joe Henderson, Ron Carter and Elvin Jones. Arguably four of the best working jazz players of the time. Essential post-bop lp.
DEAD WAX INFO: Side 1 has BNST 84264 A all etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BNST 84264 B all etched into the dead wax. Both sides have VAN GELDER stamped into the dead wax. Stone original 1967 Blue Note Liberty stereo press. VINYL VISUAL: VG and much better with some light surface marking, and stylus damage marks throughout Side 1. Labels show sparse play.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG overall with GREAT fidelity. Side 1 has obviously been played with a damaged stylus, resulting in random squelchy noise typical of needle damage. A damn shame. Listenable for sure but annoying. Side 2 plays VG+ (at least) with none of the aforementioned needle damage present on Side 1???!!!.
COVER VISUAL: VG and better with general wear and some minor creasing. Minor tear rear bottom (see pictures). Shows ok.
Comes with die-cut plain paper inner which has been lined with a rice-plastic Audiophile inner. DETAILS ON SELLER AND SHIPPING
HELLO ALL. My name is Jamie, and I have been collecting records steadily for over 45 years. After a bit of a respite from selling on Ebay, I am back and will be selling a ton of stuff over the next few years. My tastes run all over the map, so there will be something for everyone. All opened items will be visually AND aurally graded. All Dead Wax info will be listed. Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER). Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.
If you have issue with an item, PLEASE work with me to achieve an outcome that will be to your satisfaction. I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory. SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis. THANKS FOR READING, everyone. Occasionally I will be selling rare and collectible CDs. Shipping obviously will be much less, around $5 CANADIAN within North America.
