Description

This is part of a smaller auction of all higher end records of mixed genres with starting bids of just $5. There's some really cool stuff here just doesn't often come up for auction including free jazz, small press indie, 90's alternative and more.

Album: The Max Roach Trio Featuring The Legendary Hasaan


Description: White label promo pressing. Promos from this era, especially jazz, are tough to find. Hassan Ibn Ali was a composer and pianist out of Philadelphia. This is his only pre-1982 recording, even though he appears to have been pretty active during the 1960's. The music here is primarily hard bop veering a bit toward avant garde in spots.


Vinyl Condition: VG, each side has one noticeable needle drag otherwise this would be VG+. Besides those, there are just a couple of very small scattered marks. Nice original gloss. Labels look good as well, nice bright white with no writing or stickers.


Sleeve Condition: G+, the sleeve has nice color, but has some damage/wear, likely due to some liquid exposure. There is some tape on the top and bottom. There is also some discoloration and a bit of mold on the back. See pictures for full details. A nice feature of the this one is the Audition Copy stamp on the back.
