From Tamla Records (TS310), this is WHAT'S GOING ON by MARVIN GAYE, an original pressing from May 21, 1971, in very nice condition. Gatefold shows modest shelf wear with almost invisible clear PVC tape (about 7") along top seam and minor blemish inside spine (less than an inch), otherwise looks great and certainly rates at least EX. The rare inner sleeve shows only the slightest whisper of fading; it is remarkable. The label has some factory weirdness but is clean and shows no spindle marks. Playing surfaces are beautiful retaining their original lustre and show marks that also come from the factory, i.e., marks that don't hinder play. Any noise present (& it's low-volume) is inherent in the original tapes and doesn't distract from enjoyment of the music. This is the best copy of WHAT'S GOING ON we've ever heard and that's saying something. Obviously, our highest recommendation!
