Marvin Gaye Let’s Get It On
August 28, 1973 marked the release of Marvin Gaye’s 13th studio album, Let’s Get It On. It was the follow-up to 1971’s What’s Going On, and ended up being even more of a success of that album, driven by the title track to Let’s Get It On – Marvin Gaye’s most successful single, spending two weeks at the top of the Billboard Pop Singles chart, and remaining in the top ten for 13 weeks. The album produced two additional singles, “Come Get To This” and “You Sure Love To Ball.” The album is considered a landmark recording, and has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and was ranked in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time publication.
