An original 1st press of GROOVE on USA Tamla. matrix 1B/1B. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original paste-over rear solid-card cover [correct for late 60's]. These USA copies rarely surface looking this good>>>
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) A beautiful copy and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I can't make out more than a couple of light marks per side - one does just sound briefly [see detail]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of deviations. If you're looking for super audio - do take a close look at this example. The strings and backing vocals on GRAPEVINE are superb. A totally clean signalled player throughout and that's what you'd expect looking at the surface of the record [or at least hope for!]. Plays clean into all the quiet moments. I get about 4-5 clicks midway through 'Loving You' caused by a small mark. The only vaguest hint of background is in 'At Last' - and even it is very minor. The rest of the LP is playing close on perfect. Highly recommended!
Cover (Ex-) In fantastic condition - few USA originals are going to be looking like this after 50 years of use! Very slightest handling observable on the front [way better than what typically surfaces]. Notice the notch at the top of the opening - in the USA copies exiting the charts were clipped like this. The rear has definitely escaped the worst of the ageing process - just a bit over toward the opening. Relatively little edge wear for an original 60's copy. The spine is fully intact with all text legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture.
