Description

Hi There!                  Welcome To My Auction! This auction is for a very rare 7" vinyl record by Marv Johnson - Merry Go Round b/w Tell Me That You Love Me, London American Recordings orange label Demonstration Sample, HLT 9311, MSI 5085 & 5086, released 1961. Marv was signed to United Artists label at this time but used the Motown studios I believe! The A side which is 2.34 long, was written by Berry Gordy Jnr, and the B side, 2.47 long, was written by Eddie Holland (of HDH fame), Marv, Catherine Schaffner (of The Marvelettes), & Bob Bateman, hence the Motown connection! The record plays excellent both sides, there is some light scratching but this hardly affects the sound quality if at all! The A side is a slow doo wop style smoocher, the B side is a good mid tempo dancer of the era, R&B. The record times have been written on the label both sides, but no names or stickers! The few spindle marks show that it has not been overly played or thrown around, etc. It comes in a London company sleeve, although this is not the original its what I got it in, it has some wear and tear. This is a rare opportunity to get your hands on a good quality Demo, I would rate the whole package as EX! Must appeal to fans of early RnB and early Motown, get bidding now!                       Happy Bidding!!
