Description

An original and very 1st mono press from Spring 1969. Matrix 1G/1G. Stampers 1H/1P - inferring that this copy is from within the 1st few thousand copies ever produced. Please note both labels mention 'Sold In the UK..' - this MUST be present to be a genuine 1st press. Note that the mono was pretty much a defunct format by 1969. So, this mono 1st press will be a hard find - most 69 copies will all be stereo. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover with exposed flipbacks. We have the original EMI advertising sleeve too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can't make out more than a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome.  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. A cracking rendition in full mono - bags of energy and punch. The mono mix is fab and those early stampers will eek out every last nuance from these classic mid sixties hits. Intros and inbetweens are lovely quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Hard to find fault. A super clean rendition throughout - even into the quieter segments. A few crackles briefly in "Love Bug"..and it still plays real nice even here. They had some hits! Try not to tap your foot...ha! Superb all the way through with barely a whisper of background.
Cover (Ex-) In remarkable condition and someone's clearly taken great care with it. Lovely flat front with barely a crease - just a touch of ageing creeping in at extremities. The rear is looking superb - much better than you typically find. Very little surface wear and flipbacks full intact and secure. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Very smart!
