Description
You are bidding on an original Tour Jacket that belonged to George McCorkle himself. It has the emblem from the "Tenth" album embroidered on the back and George's name embroidered inside the left front. There is a little discoloration and a tiny tear on one pocket, probably from putting his hands in and out of it. If you are a fan of the Marshall Tucker Band and especially George McCorkle, one of the founding members, this is a must have for your collection.
People like the stories behind these items. Let's just say, I was around back when. Yes, back when MTB was big enough to sell out Madison Square Gardens. Back before Tommy died, a terrible loss. Back when it all started. And I've been very close to a few people that have known them over the years, specifically George. As a matter of fact, George was here at my home in 2001 visiting. This jacket is probably a size medium back before George got quite so big. He was a big man after all as he matured. But originally when the all started they weren't that big. Check out the way they looked in those early interviews. Everybody was smaller then, of course we were all younger then too. If you want me to measure it I can, just send me a message. Personally, I would probably frame it and hang it up. You may ask why don't I? Well, I already have the street sign, one of the platinum records, a framed picture of the original tour bus, a framed picture of the guys back then, lots of old back stage passes, and lots of memories. I thought I'd let this piece of memorabilia go as it has just been hanging in a plastic jacket in my closet. I hope someone who really can appreciate it gets it. George was after all, aside of being a great song writer, guitar player, and overall musician, a wonderful guy.
