Description

Manic Street Preachers 'New Art Riot' / 'Repeat After Me' (Caff)

Perhaps the rarest manics item? This one scarcely ever turns up in any condition: the 'Feminine is Beautiful' single. Raw, impassioned recordings from 1989, issued in 1991 on Bob Stanley's (St. Etienne) collectable Caff imprint. Original wraparound folded sleeve, original Caff insert which reads:

"Xmas 1989. Blackwood, South Wales. Four lads with a love of mascara and a worn out video of "rude boy", pool their giros to record a demo. Picture them walking into the studio: James with a look on his face that screams out "smash the system", drummer Sean just 14, Richey with his beautiful brown eyes, and Nick with a chick on each arm and bits of pizza down the front of his shirt. They are revolution flowers. They're in the studio 40 minutes - it's all they can afford. They record two songs, no time for overdubs. They sound fucking great. Here they are. Enjoy, enjoy, Bob x"

This has come from a radio station collection, and has probably hardly been played, there are one or two spindle marks. condition: visual vg+, a few surface marks which don't affect play - the vinyl looks a little 'silvered', but again does not affect play; play grade ex+, a little noise on run in, plays through perfectly with no discernable surface noise. Pretty lo-fi recording though. I can provide a soundfile from the actual record if you want to hear it.

There is a modest reserve that reflects the rarity of this 45: the last copy fetched over £200. postage: £2.50 in uk (recorded); £5 worldwide (signed for). Paypal preferred.
