Mahler : Symphony No. 2 Klemperer. Columbia SAX 2743/2474 2LP UK Blue/Silver Two record set. Condition : I had these records professionally cleaned on a record cleaning machine and then played the records using my Linn LP12 turntable/Troika cartridge. Record one (side one) : looks excellent with a clean shiny surface - labels excellent. A very light surface scuff type mark can be seen - however this does not affect play and is not audible. In general this side sounds excellent. some minor suface noise during quiet passages. no skips/jumps. Record one (side two) : looks excellent. clean and shiny. labels excellent. some surface noise during quiet parts. no skips or jumps. Record two (side three) : A 1cm scratch at the beginning of this side causes audible noise/clicks for the first few minutes. I also noticed some surface noise (crackle) during quiet parts on this side. no skips or jumps. Record two (side four) : looks excellent with shiny surface and labels excellent. A light scuff type mark runs across this side - not audible. some surface noise (crackle) during quiet parts. no skips/jumps. In conclusion the records look excellent but in view of the faults as noted I am grading them as Very Good not excellent. The covers have some creases and general wear - spines intact. I am grading them as Very Good - please see the pictures for a clearer idea. I use the "Record Collector" grading system to grade my records.
