MY BLOODY VALENTINE – Ecstasy ORIG Lazy Records LP / LAZY 08 (UK, Stereo, 1987)
Here’s a special opportunity for MBV fans – the original Lazy Records pressing of the rare ‘Ecstasy’ LP in absolutely superlative condition, both sleeve and vinyl. Not only that though, this copy has been signed by all the band and THESE ARE GUARANTEED TO BE GENUINE AND ORIGINAL SIGNATURES.
A couple of months ago I offered a signed copy of the ‘You Made Me Realise’ 12”. This copy of Ecstasy came from the same source and was indeed signed at the same time, at the Rock City club in Nottingham, UK after their gig at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham on 11th February, 1989. The band have all signed in blue biro pen top to bottom: Kevin, Colm, Debbie & Bilinda (see photos) I was intending to hold on to this and it saddens me to have to offer it for sale but needs must as they say…
The single format non-laminated sleeve is in brilliant condition and has been incredibly well looked after – NO creases! No splits, tears, scrapes or stickers and it lies perfectly flat with a proud, non-compressed and fully legible spine. Bar a little rubbing to the top and bottom edges it looks near to new and you’ll be hard pushed to find it better (without signatures!). Grades M- (Mint Minus).
The labels are really fresh. The previous owner has evidently not played this much at all. Only ONE faint spindle trace to each side. No writing, stickers, dirt or residue. Tremendous pair of labels!
The vinyl is on a par with the rest of the package. Like new. Grades M- (Mint Minus). Possibly one super fine hairline. It has been examined under both strong electrical light and broad daylight and maintains full shine with no scratches, scuffs, scrapes or embedded dirt. Brilliant! IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays as you would expect from such a pristine looking disc without impediment or loss of clarity/lack of definition. Superb.
Great to have this rare LP in such fantastic condition but with authentic 1980s signatures? Well, it could be a long time before this opportunity presents itself again. A superb piece of MBV history.

I do not use any more than ONE plus or minus between grades. After all, WHAT ON EARTH DOES VG+++++ MEAN? What is NM+? Or EX---? These are just some of the ridiculous gradings I’ve encountered on eBay. I am very careful using the EX (Excellent) grade. Excellent, by dictionary definition means‘extremely good’ NOT ‘marked and slightly beat up with wear’!
