Description
Another band that deserved much more consideration than they got, Murple released a single beautiful album in 1974 on the German Basf label, one of very few Italian releases on this label, that didn't care to promote the group at all and issued the record long after its recording. It's a shame, because "Io sono Murple" is a very regarding album, well presented in a fantasy cover and with lyric insert, and very well played by this experienced four-piece from Rome.
The album contains a long suite divided on the two sides, based on the story of a penguin, and even if the lyrics are somehow naive, the music is very good, with classical inspirations especially in the keyboard playing and nice guitar parts.

Uno dei tanti gruppi che avrebbero meritato molta più considerazione di quella che hanno avuto, i Murple hanno pubblicato un unico bellissimo album nel 1974 per l'etichetta tedesca Basf, una delle poche produzioni italiane di questa casa discografica, che non si occupò minimamente della promozione del gruppo e fece uscire il disco molto tempo dopo la sua registrazione. Peccato, perchè "Io sono Murple" E' un album molto bello, fin dalla copertina fantasy con un inserto apribile con i testi, e molto ben suonato da questo quartetto di Roma con una lunga esperienza.
L'album contiene un'unica lunga suite divisa tra le due facciate, basata sulla storia di un pinguino, ed anche se i testi sono a tratti ingenui, la parte musicale è molto buona, con influenze classiche specialmente nelle tastiere ed ottime parti di chitarra.
