THE HOLY GRAIL OF ACOUSTIC BLUES – ORIGINAL 1964 UK MONO PRESSING

Offered here is a stunning collector-grade copy of Muddy Waters' acoustic masterpiece, Folk Singer. This is the original UK 1st Pressing released on the legendary Pye International R&B Series (NPL 28038).

Featuring a young Buddy Guy on second guitar and Willie Dixon on bass.

Condition Report

  • Vinyl (VG+): Exceptionally clean and glossy. Under strong light, there are only a few very light, non-feelable paper scuffs. Plays with incredible power and clarity. The quiet acoustic passages are remarkably clear for a 60-year-old record.

  • Sleeve (VG+): Original front-laminated "flipback" sleeve by Garrod & Lofthouse. The lamination is bright and vibrant with no significant peeling. The "flipbacks" on the rear are fully intact. The spine is firm and readable. Very light natural toning to the unlaminated rear, as expected for 1964. 

  • There is a small, black square "DYMO" 6 on the top left of the cover. There is also one red pen mark line to the bottom left of the reverse of the cover - PLEASE SEE DETAILED PHOTOS

  • Labels: Iconic Red/Yellow Pye International labels are clean with minimal spindle marking.
