Yet another great LP to be auctioned from an absolutely outstanding collection of records which used to belong to a well-known record reviewer. We here at Stamford Audio have never before seen such an amazing collection, and such a sterling one in this kind of outstanding condition is a rarity indeed.

The follow-up to the wonderful 'Electric Mud' (also on auction with us), this is the GREAT Muddy Waters' once again GREAT, misunderstood, maligned and finally MONSTER 'After The Rain' LP on UK Chess CRLS 4553. Muddy never again experimented with his music in the same way as he did on this one, so 'Electric Mud' and this LP can be seen as the grooviest, psyched out black sheep of his career. Unbelievably, there was a critical backlash at the time of this LP release which affected sales to the point where Muddy never messed with his mojo no more (so to speak)! Oh, dear, the critics were wrong. 150,000 copies of Electric Mud had sold in the first six weeks of release and, if many of those who paid attention to critics decided not to buy this one, they missed out. A cracking blues-rock record with many of the same musicians as had recorded Electric Mud, including Otis Spann on piano, and with Muddy on lead guitar on half the LP.

The laminated flipback sleeve is in superb EX+ condition. Very minor storage wear and the ghost of a sticker top left.

The UK FIRST PRESSING (A1/B1) vinyl is in astounding NEAR MINT condition! 2 small spindle marks on label side 1 and just one on label side 2. Extrememly light mark side 1, track 3, barely noticeable and mentioned purely for 100% accuracy, not audible. NO OTHER NOTICEABLE MARKS ON THE PLAYING GROOVES - PHENOMENAL!!! BUY IT!
