More superb records from the collection of the Birmingham Posts's music reviewer. Here we have an ORIGINAL PYE record of MUDDY WATERS AT NEWPORT. Make no mistake this is a VERY RARE LP and NOT to be confused with the later Chess release from 1965 though this is hard to find as well. This original copy does not come up for sale very often.
This is one of Muddy Waters rarest LP's and to find one in this superb condition is amazing. Try and find another.
When this was released in 1960 hardly anyone bought a copy. It was only a few years later when Waters became better known through Rolling Stones recordings that this recording was RE-RELEASED on Chess records in 1965. This Pye ORIGINAL is a real rarity. The disc is in brilliant condition and is a Pye First Pressing (see below) with First press Garrod & Lofthouse Patent Pending sleeve AND ORIGINAL PYE advertising inner sleeve.

The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL. This disc has barely been played.
A touch of grubbiness on the rear of the sleeve perfectly acceptable after 55 years.

First press matrix numbers TT 1034 A-1WN & TT 1034-B1WN as you would expect from a
Factory Sample sent to the music reviewer of a major UK local newspaper.

The lack of spindle marks how little this record has been played.

Comes with its original Pye Records inner sleeve.

The flimsy sleeve has some wear as seen in the photographs.

Over 55 years old now this record sold in tiny amounts and was deleted almost immediately.

Almost impossible to find in this barely played condition.
