One Night at Budokan is a live double LP by the Michael Schenker Group (MSG), recorded on August 12, 1981 at the legendary Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. Released in 1982 on Chrysalis Records, this album captures MSG at their peak, delivering a fiery performance that blends hard rock precision with raw energy.
Michael Schenker, formerly of UFO and Scorpions, leads the charge with his signature melodic guitar work, backed by a powerhouse lineup: Gary Barden on vocals, Cozy Powell on drums, Chris Glen on bass, and Paul Raymond on keyboards and rhythm guitar. The album was produced by MSG along with David Wooley and David Kirkwood, and mixed at Air Studios in London.
