THE MOVE:Looking On(Italy/IL ISO 34124/1971)
Very unusual copy of their 3rd and heaviest LP, and introduction of Jeff Lynne into the band. This was released on a small Italian label that is known among collectors for some valuable prog LPs. As I've never seen another copy (only heard about one more), I presume this to be as rare as any of the progsters.
The LP is housed in a fantastic gimmick cover that is found only with this pressing (see photos). The back cover has an out of date picture that includes Carl Wayne & Trevor Burton and Roy Wood without glasses or bushy hair & beard.
This has to be one of the most unique and rarest of Move records. I'm not sure of value, so my reserve might be a bit steep, but not insane. I just set it at what it would take for me to want to part with this gem.
The cover is a strong VG (top opening flap has a 3" inch split at left opening; the flap has been discreetly taped along the whole outside to prevent further splitting; there is moderate wear on the other seams; there is mild ringwear front & back). The record looks VG+ (moderate amount of scuffing and hairline marks; one heavy line across half of side 2, but it doesn't break the surface of the vinyl). It plays VG+ (intermittent crackling throughout, but no pops or clicks).
