MOTORHEAD - BOMBERS - NEW

NEW / SEALED AND UNPLAYED

When a discussion of Motorhead pops up, you're going to hear something about "Overkill" and the iconic "Ace of Spades." Ironically, I find the in between album in "Bomber" to be better overall. It lacks that full speed metal approach to its more famous follow up, but this album reeks of gritty bar rock with some punk and metal influences, which is really what you want out of Motorhead anyway.

"Dead Men Tell No Tales" and "Stone Dead Forever" do kick up the speed factor, but I particularly love the more mid-tempo bar rockers of something like "Lawman" and "All the Aces." Of course the title track is excellent, probably the one song most associate with this album. Yet there isn't a single dud to be found, except "Step Down" which isn't bad at all, it just isn't Lemmy singing and it took me by surprise first time I heard it.

Therefore, give this one a chance. Its good the whole way through, and none of the songs really run together the way "Ace of Spades" did. This one is just rugged, ballsy rock 'n roll with no pretentious frills or anything. A definite must hear for any fan of the band or those looking to get into the expansive world of Motorhead.
