Description
From 1969, comes Morris Knight with his LP After Guernica on Golden Crest CR4092. Ultra rare priginal of this scarce electronic and effects album! It is music in the background with him speaking philosophically on some of cuts and the music is his response to Picasso's famed mural Guernica,which depicts war in all its horror! There are four long tracks on this record,including After Guernica, The Origin Of Prophecy, Luminescence and Refractions For Clarinet And Tape.

Morris Knight is an american composer, professional instrumentalist and arranger in both contemporary classical music and jazz.
In 1952, while an undergraduate at the University of Georgia, he became acquainted with H. Ray Warren, who was experimenting with tape recording. Knight joined the staff of WRFC in Athens, Georgia, for the facilities and access that would lead to his first experimental tape works. Probably unaware of developments in Europe, the composer completed a number of these tracks under the impression he was doing pioneering work.
Morris subsequently joined the faculty at Ball State University, and received a substantial federal grant, which led to the development of this work. Morris’ work plays with traditional forms, subverting intervals and structure with variety and irony. Yet formalist as Morris’ sensibilities might be, “After Guernica,” recorded in 1969, responds to Picasso’s famous memorial painting with a slow crescendo of isolated pitch tones and pitchless clusters, before erupting in mimesis of violence and pain.
This record has a picture of part of Guernica by Picasso on the cover.

MINT MINUS=AS CLOSE TO NEW AS CAN POSSIBLY BE, AFTER BEING TOUCHED BY HUMAN HANDS.
VG++= LOTS OF PLAY IS LEFT, NO MARKS, SCUFFS OR SCRATCHES. LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN PLAYED VERY LITTLE.
VG+ = SHOWS SOME SIGNS OF BEING PLAYED, BUT STILL IS A QUALITY PLAY. MAY HAVE SOME LIGHT MARKS.
I WILL NOTE ALL FLAWS BEFORE I GIVE THE GRADING. IF THERE ARE NO FLAWS LISTED, THAT MEANS THE RECORD IS EITHER MINT MINUS OR STILL SEALED! OLDER RECORDS DO NOT SOUND LIKE NEW RECORDS, AS RECORDS ARE MADE OUT OF MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF VINYL AND VINYL SUBSTITUTES AND MOST OF THEM WERE NOT PRESSED ON 100% VIRGIN VINYL!. IF YOU WANT A RECORD THAT SOUNDS LIKE A 180 GRAM RECORD, THEN BUY A 180 GRAM RECORD. THE OLDER RECORDS ARE A LOWER DENSITY AND ARE 90 TO 110 GRAMS, THEREFORE THEY CANNOT SOUND THE SAME AS NEW ONES!
FLAWS: Cover has tiny bit of dirt lower right at seam edge and an extremely tiny corner knock lower right front cover.
GRADE: Cover is VG++ and record is MINT MINUS!!!
