This is a SUPER RARE White Label TEST PRESSING of the 1st solo album by the keyboardist for The Moody Blues titles "The Promise". The cover of this is plain white with lots of assorted into hand written on it, including a HAND STAMP on the front top right declaring it THS18 (Threshold Records-THS-was the bands own label). This was recorded at Pinder's own (then) Indigo Ranch Studios and remastered at Kendun Recorders on 04/06/76. Their is also a hand typed song list taped to the front, and hand written on the back. The label is a typical WHITE TEST PRESSING label with 1 and 2 written in red marker to note which side is which, with no other writing or info. The info in the dead wax is THS-18-XZAL-14272 5 with a KENDUN stamp. The cover has several pieces of tape holding it together and is more solid because of it. The vinyl on Side One has a small superficial mark on the first song, "Free As A Dove" that causes NO skipping and NO obnoxious pops. This has a couple of other minor sleeve marks, but due to the mark on Side One, I have listened to this all the way through at a decent volume and it really sounds incredibly clean, crisp, and awesome. Unlike most Moody solo albums, this one is actually pretty good all the way through. Great instrumentation and a wonderful recording, this copy is EXTREMELY RARE. We have sold tons of vinyl from my personal collection, and I don't expect this one to last too long, there's lots of Moody collectors out there, so grab it while we've got it, it may not last, especially due to the fact that there may be only a couple others out there.
