 Another from my personal collection! Originally purchased from new in the late 60s, incredibly over 40 years ago! The vinyl was  originally played to record to tape and then stored in a case with the sleeve removed from the vinyl for protection this is how I have always stored my records!  This is an early second UK pressing featureing the original boxed Decca labels! Look, features ''1'' to '1'' mother stampers on both sides of the vinyl! I have play tested the vinyl at very loud volume on a top system and importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! The audio is graded at near mint throughout! The original Robert Stace cover is in also truly awesome top condition also graded at near mint!

Extremely difficult to find this, highly collectable and sought after! Achive copy!

 The Magnificent Moodies is the 1965 debut album by The Moody Blues first released in the UK and the first and only album featuring their R&B lineup of guitarist Denny Laine, bassist Clint Warwick, keyboardist Mike Pinder, flute player–percussionist Ray Thomas, and drummer Graeme Edge!.

 The album is a collection of R&B and Merseybeat type songs, including the cover of "Go Now", produced by Alex Wharton, had been a Number 1 hit single earlier that year. For the US release (under the title Go Now – The Moody Blues #1), four songs replaced and the tracks were re-ordered!.

 The album did not make the Record Retailer/Music Week chart even though it reached number 5 in August 1965 in the New Musical Express album chart. The US album did not make the Billboard chart. Laine and Warwick left the group in 1966, and were replaced by guitarist Justin Hayward and bassist John Lodge respectively!.

 At the height of The Moody Blues' US success in 1970, Deram Records reissued the US version of the album with a new cover and title, "In The Beginning" (Deram DES-18051). As with the original album, this reissue did not chart. In 1985 Intermediate Records reissued the album on vinyl and cassette as Go Now with a mixture of songs from the original UK and US LPs plus songs that would eventually end up as bonus tracks on the CD issues!.

 Decca Records UK first issued The Magnificent Moodies on CD in 1988 with 13 bonus tracks, with mastering by Anthony Hawkins. Repertoire Records issued an abridged version of the CD in the 1990s with only seven bonus tracks. In 2006, the CD was reissued again, this time with 14 bonus tracks including the rare "People Gotta Go" not found on the original 1988 Decca version. The CD also boasts for the first time a speed-corrected and undistorted version of "Go Now". The 2006 Repertoire CD was remastered by Eroc (Joachim Ehrig), who was the leader of the 1970s German rock band Grobschnitt. Eroc described the project, at stevehoffman.tv, as follows: "When I got the job for the "Magnificent Moodies" from REP some time ago I also got the order to try to get the intro of "Go Now" better. So I sat down and analysed the distortion and then restored the waveforms very carefully. This can be done by "drawing" out each single harsh peak by hand. It took me some days but I wanted to find out, what can be done in general. The result is for the first time ever a much more natural sounding intro which also is pitched correctly. I see this as an alternative for all those who always were bothered by that harsh "electric" piano-sound. I think many of them will like the new alternative and I myself prefer it a lot compared to the "technical distroyed [sic]" original. Others may hate it because it differs from the version they got used to over the decades. But in each case it's worth a qualified discussion."

This is the DECCA STEREO (blue\white) poly lined sleeve with (no) splits or tares SUPERBE light creasings only worth to mention overall in super At least Excellent condition! and original

The vinyl

On initial visual inspection this thick and heavier type of vinyl retains its original sheen from new! This lays perfectly flat on the turntable! This is the original THICKER and deeper grooved type of vinyl only found on original early pressings later pressings were much more flimsier and less robust.  On initial inspection  to be honest I find it hard to see any marks on the playing surface! Angled in very strong light there are minor light whyspy surface sleeve removal type marks only, any marks that could possibly be seen have very little if (no) effect on the awesome audio quality.  I can ( not) see any needle scratches or marks that would OR INDEED effect the play and would cause any loud clicks or pops during the audio! THE AUDIO PLAYS SUPERBE ON MY  SYSTEMS, AWESOME ALMOST AS GOOD AS IT GETS IN MY OPINION, EVEN IN BETWEEN TRACKS OR QUIET PARTS, ANY STATIC/TICK OR CRACKLE IS MINIMAL INDEED

The Audio Quality

I have played this vinyl as usual at very loud volume on a top system prior to listing,,importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! The audio is truly awesome, cristal clear and vibrant all of the way through, Please note i heard of coarse (no) loud constant clicks or pops no skips or jumps  during the play of this vinyl. This is so rare to find like this and in this condition.Absolutely stunning audio seperation throughout!. The audio on this very rare vinyl will be hard to surpass and I rate this audio at the VERY VERY top on all frequencies! I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to near mint!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! That I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality of this vinyl as I heard it. and have played it through track for track at loud volume on a top system.  Please allow for the odd isolated static crackle\tick here and there (not) consistant through out the audio perhapes heard in isolated odd quiet place only. Remember this is an original that is at least 40 years old and would have been played on a system that is 40 years old! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!

Please note! A constant clean before each play is recomended! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static ticks \crackle! Cleaning reduces this!

The audio is graded at the top!! at least Excellent plus to near mint!

The Labels,

These are the original 2nd issue ''boxed '' DECCA labels !! with (no) nasty names written on them. Amaizingly I find it hard to see any spidering perhapes just one or two might just barely be seen! This has obviously been played just a minimal amount of times only, and has certainly not been overplayed , ) Little if (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round Made in England is featured (only UK press)

LOOK AWESOME ORIGINAL LAMINATED FRONT! (ONLY EARLY PRESS) Super glossy appearance! On initial inspection this looks like new!! Printed in England is unbelievably rare to find these originals in this awesome condition! usually in a terrible state.There is no main creases on this cover, very minimal small/minor at the spine barely noticable unless looked for in my opinion! very,very clean indeed!   strong and straight!Must be at least  excellent plus to very near mint in my opinion!
