It is sad to say that there are only a few of these out there, and so far, I haven't found anyone who knows anything about this other than what they spew from copying the info on the back of the record.

SO, please allow me to enlighten you. First, who is M&K (Miller & Kreisel)? Jonas Miller and Ken Kreisel founded Jonas Miller Sound, a high end audio company in Beverly Hills California back in the early 1970's selling the finest stereo equipment in the world. This was about 7 years before I got into the business (more on me below). Jonas focused primarily on sales and customer service, while Ken was more into the design and perfection of sound. Together, they formed a speaker company called M&K a major innovator in audio history design.

In 1976 M&K Sound Corporation marketed the First “Satellite-Subwoofer” combination called “The David and Goliath” and in 1977 M&K debuted the Worlds very first “ Self-Powered” Subwoofer called the “Volkswoofer.” Practically all subwoofers today are self-powered. Kreisel also designed and built professional screening rooms for directors, producers, and the Hollywood elite. He was regarded as the main pioneer of “Home Theatre” or “entertainment”, because he was creating the commercial theatre environment for the home in 1978, before people had even become accustomed with the term “Home Theatre” and ultimately worked Lucasfilm in bringing the sound effects of Star Wars to their impressive fruition.

WHICH BRINGS US TO THIS RECORD!
Of all the major differences in "standard" hi-fi and "high end" high fidelity, two thigs stand out. Differences in clarity, and differences in dynamic range, or the differences between lows and highs, louds and softs, etc. This album was sold in their retail store (which still exists but sadly Jonas has passed and Ken is no longer involved) to demonstrate the difference between what they were selling and what could be found elsewhere. Customers would buy the record to show off their new sound system, and use it to continuously improve it over time.

In short, this record is intended to provide source material containing very low frequencies, great dynamic range and transient, high impact sound. The record was cut as forty-five RPM and at lower than average level to accommodate heavy bass transients and other high level peaks within the allowable range of disc recording and playback.
