12 TRACKS INCLUDE YOU'RE A SWEETHEART, DON'T LEAVE ME DEAR, A LITTLE BIT OF LOVING, ALL MY LOVE BELONGS TO YOU, SPASMS, HOME AT LAST, YOU GOT TO GET UP EARLY I THE MORNING, LET'S ROCK WHILE THE ROCKIN'S GOOD

COVER STOCK WITH SOME LIGHT RUB WEAR. BACK WHITE CARD STOCK WITH SOME LIGHT AGE DISCOLORATION AND AN INKED NAME AT TOP. CORNERS WITH ROUGH SPOTS ON POINT, THE BOTTOM RIGHT WITH BEGINNING SPLIT AND SMALL OUTER LAYER LOSS ON EDGE. BOTTOM EDGE WITH SOME SMALL ROUGH SPOTS.

SOME LIGHT SPINDLE RUB MARKS AROUND HOLE. VINYL BLANK WITH ASSORTED LIGHT AND FINE SURFACE LINES/RUBS/SCUFFS BOTH SIDES. I'VE TEST PLAYED THIS LP ON THE VPI TURNTABLE AND PROFESSIONAL SOUND SYSTEM AND THERE IS SOME LIGHT AND OCCASIONAL SURFACE NOISE. ALSO ONCE IN A WHILE SOME LIGHT CRACKLE AND POP. BUT ALL OF THIS IS NOT REALLY A DISTRACTION, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE KING PRESSING PLANT WAS NOT NOTED FOR THEIR METICULOUS QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM. WHILE IT MAY APPEAR VGOR EVEN VG MINUS AT FIRST GLANCE, THE SOUND WAS MORE OF A VG+ QUALITY OVERALL, AT LEAST BY THE FOUR EARS HERE LISTENING TO IT.

LITTLE WILLIE JOHN'S VOICE IS STILL QUITE STRONG AND VIBRANT AND CONSIDERING THE EXTREME RARITY OF THE RECORD, WITH MINT COPIES NOW FETCHING $350 PLUS, IT IS A TREAT WORTH OWNING.

Little Willie John's second album for King, Mister Little Willie John, finds the little singer with the huge voice belting out a variety of tunes ranging from big ballads to rocking R&B to swinging blues. Unlike on his first two records, John is joined much of the time here by a vocal chorus. He sounds as great as always, but the music can't help but be weakened by the extra sweetening, especially on the uptempo tracks like "Look What You've Done to Me" and "Let's Rock While the Rockin's Good." The tracks where the vocal group is kept in check are the tracks that make the record worth seeking out. These include the fingerpopping "You Got to Get Up Early in the Morning," "Let's Rock While the Rockin's Good," "A Little Bit of Lovin'," "Why Don't You Haul Off and Love Me," and the cute rockabilly novelty "Spasms." Even though some of the material is not up to par, the album is still worth seeking out due to Little Willie John's amazing voice. He could give you goose bumps singing the directions for programming a VCR. For a demonstration, check him out on the swooning "You're a Sweetheart." You just can't get too much of Little Willie John.
