PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! The SOFT MACHINE were one of the first to embrace Psychedelia before heading off on a PROG-Jazz influenced tangent. In hindsight Soft Machine's evolution could have only taken place in the musical free thinking environment that was the music business of the late 60's / early 70's. It was an evolution that would produce some of the most startlingly brilliant and innovative music of the period.
Considered the most difficult and inaccessible of all their studio albums, 'Fifth' certainly finds the jazz-prog ensemble at their most experimental though at the same time this is just as memorable as the likes of previous albums 'Volume One', 'Third' and 'Fourth' and follow-up effort 'Six', proving once again just what a versatile and innovative outfit Soft Machine were at their peak. Those familiar with the group will know just what to expect here as cosmic saxophone breaks, brooding keyboard passages, oddly timed sonic signatures and mysterious, slow-burning interludes combine once more to create another scintillating late-night prog/jazz odyssey. Those yet to experience this key British group are in for a real treat, whilst fans of Nucleus, Catapilla, Thde Keith Tippett Group, Miles Davis' electric period are all urged to investigate immediately. All of Soft Machine's first seven albums are fusion classics in their own right and 1972's highly atmospheric 'Fifth' is no exception. Original, daring and most of all, brilliant.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: near M- VERY clean for tis HIGHLY wear prone custom designed BLACK cover. Delicate & fragile the cover remains in top shape after some 40 years ... Very little signs of use to the black cover which normally after 40 years shows great signs of wear & use. This survivor is extremely clean and sharp, just as the photo shows. Hard to find any better! There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... VERY collection worthy ...
