Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. CONTAINS THE RARE X-RATED WITHDRAWN HUGE POSTER! Which by the way - this is the first edition of the poster that was rather quickly edited in a few spots ... little known fact.
As IF you didn't know by now....his 46 year old original issue comes with the RARE and HUGE POSTER consisting of a picture collage of the mighty FACES, including images of pills and pharmaceutical capsules, as well as photos apparently taken on tour of band and crew members reveling with naked groupies in hotel rooms. Within weeks of release, the record company had second thoughts and re-issued the album without the poster, making original copies with the poster into prized collector's items!! Sixties Brit-poppers the Small Faces begat the Faces, the reshaped '70s version. Of course, the latter-day incarnation of the band was best known for its lead singer, Rod Stewart, and his unique, squalling voice. The players, meanwhile, displayed Stones-ish sensibilities, which makes sense given that guitarist Ron Wood left the group to join Jagger, Richards, and the boys. Faces didn't release a great number of albums, but during their tumble on the rock charts, they made some truly great songs, several of which are found on this, their consensus classic. "Stay with Me" sounds like a barroom brawl set to music, and "Miss Judy's Farm" puts one in mind of a garage band that lucked out and found a studio and a (somewhat) sober producer. A Nod... is the most representative recording of a band that helped shape hard rock and punk for years to come The Faces were the original rhythm and booze band but by damned they showed some of the other big rock bands of the era that they were right up there with them on "a nods as good as a wink" .
Listen to the way they romp through "Stay With Me" and "Miss Judys Farm" for instance , and there was an element of fun about the group that just didnt exist in the Stones and Zeppelin. They were about drinking and pulling birds. But they really could play too, check out Rons earth shattering slide on the blues/calypso hybrid of "Thats All You Need " , they were also quite a rounded group too with Ronnie Lane providing two beautiful ballads in "Debris" and "Love Lives Here" .
To cap it all off Glyn Johns production is perfect . Anyone who thinks that 1971 era Rod Stewart wasn't as good a singer as Plant or jagger should get their ears round this Lp. Its one of the best rock albums of the 70s ... and thats saying something.
