PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! TOP "ARCHIVE" COPY
QUINTESSANCE
DIVE DEEP
UK - ISLAND RECORDS [pink rimmed] - ILPS 9143
! TOP MINTY CLEAN ! BEAUTIFUL ALL OVER = INSIDE, OUTSIDE AND both sides of the vinyl .... INCLUDES THE DOUBLE SIDED GROUP PHOTOS INNER SLEEVE
TOP COPY = STUNNING CLEAN vintage British psychedelic jammer on the UK Island label with textured eye-popping designed (grainy/textured) cover that includes a double sided group photos inner sleeve... Recorded in 1970 and...one of the best works from the mighty Quintessence
At their top, QUINTESSENCE was a magnificient group playing some superb Indian-laced psychadelic progressive rock and are fondly remembered by all serious psych & prog collectors including old hippies around the world....
It was business as usual on Quintessence's "Dive Deep", and just as enjoyable ever before with the band delivering thoroughly delightful material. After a mellow flowing "Dive Deep" title-track, we're taken to the trip, diving deep into adventurous acid guitar dominated wonders with the lengthy "Dance for the One" where Raja Ram explores and mixes in his whirling flute-techniques he first introduced on "Prisms" from the previous album now with the whole band backing him -- including some Mellotron from Shiva far in the background. "Brahman" is one of the best melodies on the record, and remains among a favourite by fans of the group. "The Seer" is a very nice ballad that features more Mellotron from Shiva, although he never allowed the instrument to be very dominant in the music the few places where he used it. The second side is opened with sitar in "Epitaph for Tomorrow" where the band's eastern-influenced progressive rock sound was mixed with what best can be described as epic heavy psych rock. The result is really powerful and exciting, and stands as one of their most ambitious songs. The album closes on a high note with the sitar drones & gorgeous chant of "Sri Ram Chant" that is next to "Chant" from their first LP as the best track they ever did in this style, and here with an even more epic feel. Quintessence were overall an excellent original 'trippers' band, and should have gone on with throngs of followers as in the 'Dead Heads' that followed the Grateful Dead far and wide...
