Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. FANTASTIC ARCHIVE (perfect) Original issue!

STILL IN ORIGINAL FACTORY SHRINK WRAPPER & 4 sharp corners

FINAL SOLID COLLECTION COPY!

Original 1971 first pressing  ... this is the impossible to find silver foil MIRROR cover that is ALWAYS scuffed and scratched = it's 48 years old ... here, a superior SURVIVING ORIGINAL with vinyl that plays smooth like glass!  Don't hold your breath for the next great copy, they're not around....

The 1971 Uriah Heep's "LOOK AT YOURSELF" is the high water mark for the famed British heavy prog psych band and a great one featuring their most turned-on powerful sounds...

  • David Byron - lead vocals
  • Ken Hensley – organ, piano, guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals
  • Mick Box – lead guitar, acoustic guitar
  • Paul Newton – bass guitar
  • Ian Clarke – drums
  • A fierce, Heep comes out on this album! Anger and aggression seem to dominate the songwriting, here, and it makes for a compelling piece of music.

Opening with the title track it hurtles out of the tracks like some demented heavy metal demon, Hensley and Box thrash out the songs riff before the wonderfully strong voice of David Byron calls his brethren to the cause, the rest of the band harmonizing behind him, then after a rampaging guitar solo, the riff is picked up again to bring the song to a rousing crescendo with the percussionists from 'Osibisa' brought in to add their sound to the climax. The pace is not let up by the following song 'I Wanna Be Free' as the chorus is driven along by a pounding beat, but with sympathetic vocals, and fine musical flourishes, with all the guitars in the band standing out. At track three is probably Uriah Heep's most famous song 'July Morning' a song that no version of the band could ever contemplate going on stage and not playing before they leave, it must of also been licensed out to every 'Best of Hard rock albums' ever made. After Ken Hensley's strident organ chords open the song up, Mick Box takes the song to a higher level with some truly rockin' guitar, before the whole thing is brought down to allow the vocals of David Byron to take over, the song is a loving ten minutes long, showing the full range of all the soloist's, building to many crescendo's before reaching a dramatic conclusion with everybody having a go at the solo's and Manfred Mann brought into the studio to add his deft touch on the moog syntherziser, a classic rock song. And it just goes on alike from there ...powerful... Uriah Heep's rampage.

    "Look at Yourself" – 5:10
  • "I Wanna Be Free"  – 4:01
  • "July Morning"  – 10:32
  • "Tears in My Eyes"  – 5:01
  • "Shadows of Grief"  – 8:39
  • "What Should Be Done"  – 4:15
  • "Love Machine"  – 3:37
