Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. MINT CLEAN ! STILL IN ORIGINAL FACTORY CELLOPHANE
For whatever reason, besides being a great album, it's one of the hardest of ALL Animals albums to find, especially with clean vinyl, like this!
Original 1967 (( STEREO )) VINYL first pressing in thick gatefold, hard to find clean, well, it was a popular 'head' album back 53 years ago, so most found copies are worn out -- here's one well preserved...dig the heady psych grooves embedded within these tunes, lovely stuff, yeah?
WINDS OF CHANGE are definitely afoot in the sound of The Animals -- as the album's one of their most psychedelic outings ever -- and also a bit heavy at times too! Production by Tom Wilson is really great -- echoey at most moments, with a kind of "flash" and shimmer around the drums that really spaces things out, and almost gives a Velvets sort of feel to the proceedings. The group's bluesier roots are still in place at times -- but these have also been tripped-out and abstracted too, in modes that are a few years ahead of other blues rock combos on the rise ...this album is certainly not for everyone, as it wasn't in 1967 when it came out, it has much to offer and loaded with cool sound effects -- most importantly, the musicianship on this album is top notch. John Weider and the very unsung Vic Briggs were actually pretty talented.
As for the content of this album, there are over the top moments, and the flow of track to track is what makes it a joy for repeat listens. The trippy letter of love to the people and city of San Francisco ("San Francisco Nights") was a big radio hit in '67 ... A French horn mournfully wails as Eric Burdon delivers his finest vocal performance within webs of sitar on the title track, "Winds of Change" ... Other highlights include "Yes I am Experienced" an answer to Jimi Hendrix first album -- with appealing free form freakout guitar flashes & Burdon's wailing vocals ... plus, the infectious UK 45 release "Anything" (beautiful stuff). Then of course, "It's All Meat" a riviting fuzz-psych rocker. All told the album is solid, an excellent Lp by one of the greatest voices in rock, and the all important backing band in splendid form too!
