Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Recorded live at the Los Angeles Coliseum,
October 18, 1989
3 -LP- set
The Stones wrote the book on that kind of thing in their early days, but now that they're an entertainment institution, no such scenarios are likely to be played out in their well-oiled "Steel Wheels" show. If you wanted spontaneity Thursday Oct 18, 1989 you had to be thankful for small favors, like a brief microphone failure at the start of "Mixed Emotions" that proved that all the players up there were awake.
Things were a millimeter looser, as Jagger did more bouncing off the other musicians, at one point wrapping the stoic bassist Bill Wyman in a makeshift wrestling hold. Set-list archivists note: "Angie" replaced "Play With Fire" in the show's slow-song segment, and Keith Richards inserted "Before They Make Me Run" before "Happy" in his spotlight turn.
The clear highlight for the audience came during the opening bars of Willie Dixon's "Little Red Rooster," the slide-guitar slow blues they recorded in 1964. The video screens above the stage suddenly showed a close-up of un-introduced guest guitarist Eric Clapton, eliciting a mighty roar of recognition from the crowd.
For decades, the Rolling Stones claimed the title of “world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band.” But after a seven-year hiatus from touring, some began to wonder if it was time for another group to wear the mantle. In 1989, media propaganda, and little more, attempted to deliver a false scenario in leading the public into believing L.A.’s own Guns N’ Roses had emerged as a strong contender for the crown of “world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band.” That was thanks to two multi-platinum albums (Appetite for Destruction and G N’ R Lies.) So it was concocted that a "battle" for the “world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band” take place with the Guns & Stones at the Los Angeles Coliseum. So the Stones brought their Steel Wheels Tour to the Coliseum in October 1989 which also featured opening act Living Colour. The Coliseum concert would be the only show with the grossly overrated Guns N’ Roses to appear on the Stones tour. In his concert review, L.A. Times music critic Robert Hilburn described the generational battle of the bands as “a classic rock 'n' roll showdown.” With a setlist for the Stones that began with “Start Me Up” and finished with the encore “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” the Stones had “too much historic aura, too many great songs and too splendid a lineup of musicians” to bow to the younger band. Hilburn put it simply, “The winner and still champ: the Rolling Stones.”
This is that show, the battle winning STONES performance:::
