We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. - Extremely RARE in MINTY CLEAN condition, both fragile British cover and record are impeccably clean. To the right person, this is a treasure in UK folk rock artifacts that offers unconventional edges due to woven guitar & bouzouki instrumentation backing a truly lovely voice.
- Offering her first original compositions, ‘The Time Has Come’ was a break from UK folk tradition in more ways than one for Anne Briggs. Where previous recordings displayed the unaccompanied melodies of her voice, this album – the splendid original release by CBS in 1971 – brings additional instrumentation in the form of woven guitar and exotic bouzouki. The result is that her vocals are not submerged, but heightened – the plucked strings providing the perfect foil for her crystalline inflection.
‘The Time Has Come’ is a mix of Anne’s own songs alongside some notable covers created to her own form. All are graced with the quietly self-assured elegance of Anne’s playing, with sounds ranging from the breezy ‘Clea Caught A Rabbit’ to the terrible beauty of ‘Wishing Well’ – each song typifying the bouzouki or guitar style. To say that Anne was an accomplished picker is to do her something of an disservice – the intricacy of her finger-work rivals – and more often than not eclipses – any number of her contemporaries.
‘The Time Has Come’ is an absolute master class on words and guitar twisting into one another – the poetry goes beyond simple observation into deeply personal and profound lore. A timeless document of sweet and haunting melodies.
