The very first album by Janis Joplin, just as first issued in 1967 on the highly collected MAINSTREAM label (home to several highly prized garage psych Lp's) ...the first BIG BROTHER is the labels most famous claim to fame... ...a great hard psychedelic garage winner with raw & wild edges throughout, terrific dual fuzz guitars, psychedelic moves all over (Light Is Faster Than Sound, etc), and the powerful voice of Joplin before she was known; one can clearly can sense the major importance of this legendary singer in her early stages, grinding, belting & roaring amid the tight fuzzrock of BIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY, one of 60's San Francisco's finest!
