Description

Beautiful copy of the 1970 first pressing of Milt Jackson’s That’s the Way it Is LP with the Ray Brown, on Impulse AS-9189. This copy was personally owned by Ray Brown himself, the bassist on this record, and one of the greatest jazz bassists of all time. There is nothing to prove that it was his, but you can probably search the internet and see that the Ray Brown estate sale just happened here in LA and there were a lot of his original records in it. I acquired a number of them, many of which he played on himself, and many of which were promos or even unopened. I might be able to get a letter of confirmation from the estate sale operator confirming I bought a large collection of his records. In any case this copy is lovely. The disc plays completely flawlessly and just beautifully. There are maybe a couple of tiny scuffs, but they are entirely superficial and barely noticeable. Not a single tiny tick or even light crackle anywhere. The cover I’m pretty near mint and about as beautiful as you could ever hope for. A top original copy, and played by Ray Brown himself!
